I took the passive way out and called the turn 3-bet.

On the river I check/called.

He showed AA and I won.

Weak! HU 2pair is such a monster. Against a PF raiser I'm putting him on AK or AA(after his raise on the turn), so your top 2 is gonna make you money here a LOT because that guy won't ever lay down his AA or AK.
