So, recently I was thinking about trying to trace my musical tastes down to a few albums - IE, what started it all? Which albums paved the way for my favorite music to be made? I tried to boil it down to less than ten. Here they are:

I used to listen to crappy pop as a kid.

Then my dad was blasting the radio in the car, and Whole Lotta Love came on. I was completely blown away after I heard the solo.

Also, from what I know of your tastes, I found it odd to not see a Pixies album on there.

Is this the result of a distaste of what they inspired?

I don't consider the pixies as influential as, say, REM or the Beatles. It'd be SR if it was on there, though.
