So this week is the one year anniversary of my quitting my job and trying to make a go of it at poker, (not on purpose...I quit my job first, and had to do something, anything actually, to pay some bills) and coincidentally I was at a bar tonight getting deep in the cups (OK, that was no coincidence...that is what I do).

At the bar there are a bunch of rocker types, with arms full of tattoos, most with some form of aces or queens, and I said to my friend, who happens to be a tattoo artist, "I've bluffed for more money with crap than those fools will ever win with those aces on their arms"

Ideas are flopped around, I tried to think of something that both made me laugh and probably has never been done, and the next thing we know, Im getting the outline done. A 2 of hearts (for the girl who had faith in me) and a 7 of fleur de li's (for the city that made me) with a messy pile of chips in front of them.

It's on the inside of my arm, so can not be seen, and to me looks pretty damn allright.

Maybe I'm an idiot, though. And the girl who inspired the 2 of hearts, she's still in Australia, so she can neither laugh at me or be impressed.

The bartender was getting paid extra to "push" (get rid of) this Xtreme banana flavored rum...she knows I am good for a favor, so I drank most of it.

So yes...I'm still drunk.

But not regretting nothing yet.

PS...I never mentioned this in the other thread, but 10 years ago, the hottest chick i ever had a one night stand with, stole me a bike while I was in IV. Bikes there really are like nickels on the ground anywhere else...there for the taking, guilt be damned.

I predict that you will regret this in the morning. I mean, you got drunk off of banana rum of all things, and tatooed a 72o and a pile of chips on your arm. Except that the 7 isn't even a real card.

Actually, assuming that you got enough of it done that you can't go back now, you probably won't really regret it. I think that with tatoos, a defense mechanism kicks in and you will okay with it because you have to be. Somewhere in the back of your mind, however, there'll be a little nagging doubt that maybe this wasn't such a good idea.

And incidentally, a fluer de lis sorta looks like a peeling banana.

I think it sounds alright, but I want to see a picture before I commit to that opinion.

Not to self: Never get stinkfaced with a tattoo-artist friend.
