First Date at a Casino

so monday some random girl from myspace msged me at 2am and we got to talkin. she's cute...blah blah...not 15...smart...

anyway i was suggesting places to go on for a date and she says, "we should go gambling together"

now should i show up with a wedding ring? (jk)


but seriously, is this a good idea for a first date?

and if so, where should i take her? commerce is not the ideal place, i think pechanga might be a better idea, younger people cuz 18 is the legal age

i'm in hollywood, she's in temecula btw

ugh... depends, is she just saying this because she knows you like gambling? my ex and i use to go to vegas, she knows nothing about gambling / cards / etc. She would watch me play and after about 10 minutes of sitting there I would see her with the most bored look on her face. so we never did that again. it would be even more awkward if it was a first date thing.

however, one time i was in vegas with a group of friends. one of my female friends (who i was hooking up with at the time) played some drunken 2/4 with me. she knew nothing about poker, i dont even think she knew what the hands were (straights, flushes, etc). i kept paying our reloads and we were getting smashed, had the whole table drinking with us too... it was a great time.

so those are both sides of it...

Of course you should go to pechanga over commerce. It's closer to her, and there are way more fun non-poker things to do there with a date.

BTW if you live in LA...that is a long way to go for a girl.

i think that I'd recomend that you don't play at your normal limits. I would also recomend that you play some BlackJack or craps with her even though all of us know that those games are bad for smart gamblers. Basically if you two do the casino thing a couple of times, play lower them what you normally play, and don't play at commerce since that is your normal casino(you don't want to look like a complete degenerate gamlber). If things go well after a while then you can let her know what you really play, you don't want her to see the nice bills that you bring in and normally play with, or else she's just gonna go after your $$$

If he loses and they can have fun and laugh about it, it will be fine. If he mopes about losing a few bucks (which I really doubt will happen), that would be bad.

Poker would be a bad idea obviously, but maybe some craps or BJ, (small -EV) or even slots (small $, she can play too) where you both can whoop it up and have fun would be OK.
