Nothing beats the Sennheiser HD 600's now replaced by the Sennheiser HD 650's. Extreme high end. $600ish

the 650s are actually only about $310 on eBay new from 5 figure feedback sellers

the quietcomforts are also AWESOME for loud environments (airplanes, college dorm rooms, trains, etc.)

i've got hd590s and the quiet2s and i think the senn's are probably a bit stronger for sound but the compactness and noise cancelling on the quiets makes them my choice

i own a pair of HD600s and anyone who owns these phones should realize that quietcomforts are seriously some of the worst headphones in existance for actually listening to music. sure its cool you cant hear outside noise, but if im wearing those i wouldnt wanna hear inside noise either. go team sennheiser!

bose sells overpriced overmarketed gear. if you're looking for isolating headphones go with earbuds i.e. shure's.

i thought the quiet comforts were grey. he looks to be wearing the blue ones. they are the triport or tritone something like that. They don't isolate as much as the quiet comfort but the sound is alot purer.

I really like the triport's. I bought a pair awhile back and then returned them after 30 days, unable to decide if they were worth the price (130-150). After going back to my $50 sony ear buds, I've decided I'll likely buy them again. They're very very lightweight and extremely comfortable.

Anyways no matter what pair of headphones you buy, be sure to burn them in. "Burn-in" is to have a variety of music playing loudy for a period of 24 hours. Listen to them when u first buy them, then go plug'em into ur iPod, turn it on shuffle mode, and let it play for a day at full blast. The sound will be 100% better afterwards.

I also have a pair of triports, and they are the way to go. These are perfect for sitting at the poker table for hours. I'd definitely recommend them.

Bose is crap all up and down the line, headphones, speakers, whatever. "No highs, no lows, must be Bose." No one with discerning ears would buy Bose unless they hadn't been exposed to anything better. Bose is the McDonald's of sound. They are great at marketing, that is about it.

Anybody who has a chance to hear the better headphones made by Stax, Sennheiser, Grado, AKG, or Beyerdynamics will never chose Bose if their hearing is intact.

saying that anything bose makes is "worth the money" is absouletely insane. oh yeah, good call on akg. i have akg 501s in addition to my senn hd600s. akg rules too. dont even get me started on stax though, those things are crazy. electrostatic headphones are the bombbbb.
