View Full Version : What Song Would You Come Out to if You Were a Closer

when I was little I always wanted to be a closer. you get paid millions to throw as hard as can and just blow pitches by people (I realize that not all of them do this).

anyway the part that intrigued me the most was that they get to come out to cool intimidating music. rivera comes out to enter sandman, smoltz comes out to the darth vader song, gagne comes out to welcome to the jungle I believe, and the scoreboard flashes GAME OVER. also hoffman comes out to a cool song I think too.

anyway what song would you come out to?

the two that inspired me to make this post are the grudge by tool, the part where maynard yells for like 20 seconds. that makes me want to kill someone. also, no quarter, a zeppelin song, covered by tool on salival is an awesome song. around the 6 minute mark it gets sick and also makes me want to kill someone. prison song and deer dance by system also make me feel homicidal

Darth Vader song == Imperial March?

I figure Centerfield would be ok to use.

Ironman might be a good one.

I hate the Yankees and Rivera passionately, but him coming out to Enter Sandman is the greatest thing ever.

I think I would record a bunch of different freestyle raps dissing guys on the other teams and have them play the appropriate one when I came out...you know, if I were a major league closer.

actually I was making light of the fact that it took me a while to figure out that "coming out" in the title of the post didn't mean a gay kid telling his parents he was gay, but rather a pitcher entering a game. you can imagine the language you happened to use in the first paragraph of the post further confused the issue for me

When I used to pitch little league, I was an incorrigible head hunter, so I think coming out to the Misfits "Skulls" might be fitting.

However I think one of the most badass opening riffs you could get is "Gunya Down" by Pro Pain. The opening on that song owns. Check it out: MP3 version (http://s52.yousendit.com/d.php?id=QLPGT8WPOXWK3R7XW11J1Z40K)

Others that might be cool:
"Ghost Riders in the Sky" - Johnny Cash
"Quiet Storm" - Mobb Deep (imagine walking out really slow to this with like a ten pound diamond necklace... you wiggers)
"Angel of Death" - Slayer

And my tongue in cheek, ridiculous answer would be "Kiss" by Prince.

Don't know if the ownership would go along with that, tho.

Some others that come readily to mind:

Pantera - F**king Hostile
Fear Factory - Scapegoat
Sevendust - Too Close To Hate
Englebert Humperdink - Lesbian Seagull

some cool ones i have heard.

voodoo chile- hendrix; opening guitar sequence is sweet right as he is getting ready to come on the field (lets everyone know he is comin') and then the music rocks.

game over- lil flip; this song just made me laugh everytime the guy game in to close the game.

paint it black- rolling stones; song gets you goin'.

kashmir- zeppelin; i always thought this was the best opening riff for a walk-up song.

i would list more but ya'll have some good choices with pantera etc. so no need mentioning them again.
