I might have raised the river to 350ish, because the small bets scream middle pair to me. But I suppose a big ace might play it similarly; getting re-raised would suck. There's definitely no need to go nuts here and lose half your stack. Later in the tournament would of course be an entirely different story.

Yup. No need to bet really. Let a worse hand bet. Raising is dumb. That's how I play it.

i think you have to bet the flop here to see where you are at ... you have no idea what to do if a diamond comes

played pretty passively if you ask me ... what would you have done if he had pushed the river here? gotta bet out for information and see if you think hes got an ace or not

Had they pushed, I would've folded. I just felt like it's pretty likely for them to have an ace, and finding it out would cost too much. I would've had no trouble folding to a push or bigger bets.

Something like Raptor's line in the AJ hand (which I don't agree with at all).

I also think that many villains play an ace and a pocket pair very similarly here, that is, check the flop, then bet small, but if I bet or raise, they can easily push with a PP or with an ace. So I chose the cheaper path. I'm also not that scared of the diamond. I would call a small bet and fold to a big one just like without a diamond.
