godaddy.com is good for a registrar. if you want to host, you might consider doing it out of your apt if you have broadband.

Well, I do have broadband, but I don't really know how do to that.

I use Namecheap (http://www.namecheap.com/) for domain registration and HostPC (http://www.hostpc.com/) for hosting. I recommend both highly. Namecheap is $8.88/year for one domain name, and I pay $25/year at HostPC for more space and bandwidth than I could ever use.

Edit: If you watch a hot deals forum such as Fatwallet (http://www.fatwallet.com/c/18/) or Anandtech (http://forums.anandtech.com/categories.aspx?catid=40&entercat=y), you can usually find better hosting deals than what companies offer on their web sites.
