Comprehensive survey (re: 1-10 scale w/ pics.)

Time to settle this once and for all.

Part A:

Describe how you apply the 1-10 scale to women. Your answer might include such things as: the average rating; the relative importance of face vs. body; the minimum score for girlfriend eligibility; the effect of intangibles (personality, intelligence, etc.) Go wild.

Sample answer: My 1-10 ratings are based on the standard normal distribution (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Normal_distribution). This puts 68.27% of women between 4-6, 99.73% between 2-8, and 99.994% between 1-9, and 10's are about 1 in 10,000. In fact, only 2.5% of women will score better than a 7. (Shamefully low standards for OOT, shameful...must reduce sigma squared...ahahaha.)

Part B:

Using hotornot (http://www.hotornot.com) or something, find some examples you think are representative cutoff-type scores. Obviously you don't have to do all ten as below. (Though it is surprisingly challenging if you feel up to the task.)

I think your 4 is cuter than 5. Also, the way I use my scale is like a school's grading sytem. So 6 and up is passing and below 6 is failing. This doesn't provide very much distinction amongst beautiful people, so I use tenths of points, not just half points like most people.

I based my results half on my taste and half on social norms. My personal taste does differ. For example, I find the girl rated 5 cute as hell, she is definitely my type. She's not as 'pretty' as those rated higher, but i would have no qualms being with a girl like that.

Your ones are not nearly ugly enough. This should be a bell curve, so the vast majority of women are going to be 4-6.

1-3 should be reserved for beasts, people that are uncomfortable to look that. That doesn't just mean fat- that means deformed, bumps and stuff in places they shouldn't be.

4-6 are avg looking girls of various scales. 4's are pretty busted, but you wouldn't run from them. 5 is plain. Neither ugly nor attractive. If you were drinking, you might hit on a 5.

You would hit on a 6. You might not admit it, but you'd hit on her, sleep with her, and she'd probably give you better head than a 7.

7 the thin line between "cute" and "hot". You should be pretty happy with yourself if you're with a 7.

8 is "hot" but like maybe you can pull this off. Straight girls hate 8s.

9 is 95% of dude would be overchicked if they dated this girl. Straight girls want to sleep with 9s.

10 is "you will be overchicked, moreover, you will not date this girl." You won't be able to talk around her either.

i have one major problem with this. i don't think that its fair to judge plain dressed girls vs. trashy chicks, because there's an automatic bias to the trashy dressed chicks - somehow they're hotter just because of the outfit. i bet you could dress up the 6 here or the 7 and they would wind up higher.
