Backpacker Magazine Disappoints

This months issue profiles some of the most quiet national parks. One that really hit me was a park a hundred or so miles from the Grand Canyon that had only 200 visitors last year. Why ruin a good thing? The fishing magazines did the same thing by bringing to light underfished waters. I hate it!

I feel the same way about restaurant reviews.

This is a bit of a tangent from your point, but I was reminded of it. When I was a kid I had on my bedroom wall a poster. It was a beautiful canyon photograph, with a caption that read, "Glen Canyon, the place no one knew."


I spent several days on Lake Powell when I was 14. Very nice, but...


And look what's happening in China now.
