My wager with bugstud...

I just wanted to start a thread commemorating the wager bugstud and I have. For the record, it's on who finishes the season with a better record, Astros or Cubs...straight-up for 100 bucks. If the Astros finish with the better record, I win...if the Cubs finish with the better record, he wins (his heart made this bet for him, I'm afraid).

Anyway, at the moment, my friend...I'm feeling very good about the bottle of Dom I'm going to get for my gf and I at our favorite bar that you're going to pay for. 'Stros are up 6.5 games on the Cubbies -- and that number seems to climb every day.

blah blah blah blah. Cubs were 3 back when I made the wager. I seem to recall the Astros making up a helluva lot more ground than that last year.

Oh bugstud...7.5 back and dropping fast!!! As the mathematical date approaches, I'll start asking for ideas as to what I can spend bugstud's money on that will be the most annoying. If anyone has any ideas, start putting them out there.

I definitely have to put the Clemens bobblehead on the list of things to buy. I already have pro headphones and the only TV shows I find interesting enough to buy on DVD are West Wing and 24...so I'll pass on those.

But there we are -- that's 25 dollars of my 100 that I already have mentally spent.

Feel free to keep your money 'til it's actually over. Crazy things can happen over the last couple of weeks. And, uh...no, I won't be betting with my heart by going double or nothing on the TEXANS. MAN, did they look horrible last week. At least the Bears have a defense...Texans look like a candidate for the worst team in the league. I'll stay clear of that one for now. Though whenever any team I want to bet on is playing a Chicago team, I will be sure to give you the first chance at action.
