I've recently started watching reruns of this show on BBC America. It's incredibly funny--I had no idea Steven Coogan was that funny and talented.

Apparently he's done a bunch of one-offs and short series playing Alan Partridge, some of which are available on DVD. I'll definitely be checking them out--anyone have any suggestions as to where to start?

Get hold of "The Day Today". It's incredibly funny. It was an early 90's satire of news media, that gave birth to Alan Partridge as the sports desk. Steve Coogan is also very good in several other roles. It's as funny and relevant now as it was over 10 years ago.

If you like that you might also want to get "Brass Eye", which was also written by Chris Morris. Essentially this is a documentary satire, whereas The Day Today was news satire. It doesn't feature Alan Partridge, but the infamous "Paedophile Special" is arguably one of the funniest and most controversial pieces of comedy ever made.

Sweet.

You should also check out Garth Marenghi's Dark Place if you didn't see it the first time round.

It's out on DVD in a few months.
