What are the odds of a bank statement having the same 7 digit number, such as 11111.11?

there are 10 possibilities

0000000
1111111
2222222
etc.
out of 10,000,000 (including 0000000) total combinations. So 1/1,000,000

Depends.
If you were to choose a random 7-digit number between 0000000 and 99999.99, the chances of any particular combination coming up would be 1 in 10 million.

However, numbers between 0 and 999999 aren't really 7-digit numbers, so if you just take those between 10000.00 and 99999.99, that gives you 1 in 9,000,000.

Now, that's 1 in 9,000,000 for EACH repeating number (11111.11, 22222.22, etc) and there are 9 of those, so if you have a 7-digit bank balance and all numbers are equally likely (which is not a given) then the probability of getting one of those 9 numbers is 1 in 1,000,000.

But you get another chance every time your balance changes :-)

poppa, 0 is not a possibility because 0 cannot be the first digit

According to Richard Swinburne, the odds are 1 in 2. It either is on the statement, or it isn't.
