View Full Version : 120 Big Bets

What's the most likely deal that would create a 120 big bet pot (all 10 players cap bets all rounds)?

Here's my guess:

Hands: JTs JTs JTs JTs KQs KK QQ AA AA 99
Flop: K Q 9
Turn: rag
River: 9

Another one would be just all pairs down to TT, with any board, maybe a 9 8 7 flop to keep the JJ/TT playing.

Would still require a bunch of loose idiots, but it's at least plausible, I think. Anyone ever seen a 120 big bet pot?

2+2 tables are brilliant for this.

Beat me to it. A .5-1 2+2 table is the most likely situation lol

You're really new at this, aren't you? Good luck in poker.

I actually saw a pot that was bigger than this at a B&M game a few years ago in Blackhawk.

Table was very loose and very aggressive. On an 8 way pot two people had AK, two had AQ, one had KK, one had QQ and poor little me had JJ (and yes, I was still very new to poker lol). And then there was one joker who figured that all the raising meant the big cards were gone and his 57o was going to be good so he called till the river.

Flop came up all rags (gee, what a surprise! lol) and the whole table went to war.

In Colorado it takes 6 bets to cap, and the bets are all the same size ($5). 6 bets x 8 people x 4 streets = 192 big bets, although to be honest, I think some of us ran out of chips on the river so it was probably closer to 160 bets.

2 AK and 2 AQ went to war for 6 bets a street when rags flopped all the way to showdown? Sounds like every single hand should of slowed down way earlier.

Let me guess....5/5 game at the Lodge?

it only takes two hands to go to war while the rest call in order to create a huge pot.

lol....no. This was actually a few years ago before the Lodge was built. It was at the Gilpin around 4pm on a weekday afternoon, which makes the whole thing even more strange.

Very impressive, but I'd call it 192 SB's. There aren't any BB's in this game. Still that's a spectacular hand.

Try the party 3/6 limit Omaha hi games around midnight. They get out of control with 8 people capping preflop. Since Omaha is such a drawing game they stay in for 4 outs the whole way. It is GREAT. I saw a guy lose $1000 on one table in just over an hour. Needless to say he is on my buddy list.

On PS they have a .02/.04 limit table and I once saw 6 players cap it on every street.

The guy who won had the worst pf hand of the bunch.
