View Full Version : Allowing a "free" card while flopping the trips heads-up?

Hi!

Today Iīve played a few tournaments and the same thing happened to me twice.

Heads-up:
I had K 4, the flop came 4 4 Q and I made a small bet. The other guy called. Turn: Q. Of course he had a queen already and I was beaten.

This did happen to me two times today! So, shall I just make a big bet on the flop and end it? Will my opponent fold to that or does he call/raise with his two pairs?

So, did I play bad, was I unlucky or what?

Thank you! /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

You were unlucky. He hit a two outer.
I think you played it fine.

I think it is easier to respond if you put numbers in your examples. How small of bet compared to the pot and what were the stack sizes and the general situation.

But yeah they hit 2 outers. Happens,

Ok, sorry. I donīt remember the size of the bet or the pot size.

But thank you for your answers, I feel a bit better now. I think. /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

It would be hard to lose someone with the Q on that flop if you are playing heads up, even if you went all in there is a good chance you would get a call.

Yes, you are right. Luckily I had some chips left and won the tournament anyway. But I guess I was just unlucky running into the higher full house.

Thank you.
