Villain is fairly laggy. I don't have that good a read on him but I think he's capable of raising the flop with something like ace queen. I have no idea if he'd semi bluff this turn, it's possible. He could also check it behind with about 10 outs, though. His PFR% is ~15 FWIW.

Preflop: Hero is BB with 8/images/graemlins/heart.gif, 8/images/graemlins/spade.gif.
UTG raises, 4 folds, Hero calls.

Flop: (4.50 SB) K/images/graemlins/heart.gif, 4/images/graemlins/diamond.gif, 3/images/graemlins/club.gif (2 players)
Hero checks, UTG bets, Hero calls.

Turn: (3.25 BB) 2/images/graemlins/heart.gif (2 players)
Hero bets...

Why did you donkbet & why did you not 3bet preflop?

Does 88 have much equity edge against a 15% PFR raising UTG who's capable of pushing me off the best hand? And in the real hand I'd played it even worse, donk betting the flop. /images/graemlins/crazy.gif Just check call all the way, then? What about if I did reraise preflop and this flop falls?

I think I'm 3-betting this type of player PF with 88. That really changes the nature of the hand, and makes it a lot easier I think.

You can't say a "what if" I 3-bet. "what if" he caps? I think you 3-bet preflop, you lead the flop & if you are raised you can probably fold.
