View Full Version : Folded 66 on bubble as small stack. Were my reads enough?

I decided to wait until a better time to get some chips because the other shortstack on my immediate left was stealing hardly ever and would be blinded out sooner than me since the guy to my immediate right was raising basically every hand to keep pressure on us.

Normally I wouldn't even consider not pushing here, but the supertight slightly-shorter stack and the hyper-aggressive tall stack made me wait.

Should I have pushed the 66?

And out of curiousity, what would "ballsshowing"'s raise imply? Weird to raise 1/2 your stack right? wouldn't a hand be either 2-3BB raised or pushed? Does he want a call with KK? Anyway, what would his bet lead you to think he had?

This is simply a steal from UTG. He could have any two, but my guess is that he has to be strong enough in case the BB calls his raise, thus the major raise. He is playing for the BB fold and a short-stack call.

66 is good for pushing if you are first to act with only 4 players, but is not a hand that I would CALL my entire stack with on the bubble.

However, you really only have one orbit left in which to catch a better hand to push. Fold this and push any hand that has value in the next 2 hands. You'll be blinded out after the next couple of hands anyway.

Do you want to risk ITM or 4th on calling with 66? Personally, I would rather push with 9To, any A, any K, etc. I'm sure that ICM or PowerTools would say otherwise, though.

Good luck!

4x BB... Meh... I think you need to gamble here with a minute edge.
