Facts:
Im in school, have about a year left until I get a BS in info sys security, have an Assoc (tech degree) in Computer network systems.

Currently Im playing poker for a living.
I live in St. louis, and hate it.

Im contemplating moving out to Las Vegas, and getting a job. Im not sure what I want to do exactly, Ive been doing some things on my own, and have found out that I have a talent for marketing/sales etc, and would like to work at a sportsbook (either marketing or helping to run). Basically, I will be ready to move out there, in May of next year. What do you guys suggest I do as far as getting a job? Just move out and hope for the best, or secure a job pre-move. Does anyone have an "in" that they could help me out with? Id love to get something that pays decent, 40-50k, that I can eventually move up in ranks, based on performance, and then supplement my income with poker. Any suggestions?

PS I hate playing poker for a living, and dont think I can do it for too much longer, hence the post.

You should cross post this in B&M, tons of casino employees post in there.

las vegas review journal is the local newspaper out here... check out their website for casino job postings... there are lots. i think the website is reviewjournal.com, if not just google it. good luck... vegas is awesome, just moved out here myself a few months back. i didn't have a job lined up at the time, but i do engineering inspection work and found a job within 3 days... lots of development out here. you should have no problem finding work with that degree... hope all goes well for you.

Did you ever go back? Any ideas if I can apply for the needed liscences over the net?
