Escaping the inevitable loss is a first for the SPM. Having destroyed his enemies on his birthday and the SPM was pretty full of himself, he returned to the Hold'em Wars the next day. He went to his home court in Aurora, IL, he wanted to go to Harrah's but the ball and chain wanted to go to dinner that night. So it was stay close to home and make her happy, a small price to pay, because she makes the SPM happy. Anyway, the SPM took a beating and gave back his birthday win. It always happens when you want to go here but wind up there and then you lose...

The next day was Sunday, Sundays are always a shoot out, in Aurora, IL. Players from Any2card Town and Border Town fill the room. It's a dangerous day, something good can happen as well as bad. The SPM had just finished two winning weeks back to back, and really wanted to stay home. But he is and forever will be a poker junkie. Staying home when there is a bank roll in the house is very hard for this troubled soul. It's like money burning a hole in your pocket, as they say.

The SPM delays his trip to the casino on Sunday with some busy work, that didn't need to be done. The wife asks are you going to the casino to day or not. Haven't made up my mind...he responds...two hours later, are you going or staying, well...okay, I'll make the decision for you she says, your grounded. Thank you responds the SPM, for he knew he would not be able to resist the call of the cards. Giving himself a day of rest just never seems to inter the equation.

Whenever it's time for a break from the rigors of poker, one should have the wisdom to take that break. Because if you don't take that break, without failure, you will lose. For some on known reason the poker god will always send defeat your way when you go against your inner feelings. Now with a day of rest it's time to return to the Hold'em Wars.

Who shall be the SPM's next victim, we hope it will be IRS Frank, the SPM owes him a Gotch- ya!

SPM,...deal the cards...
