check/call

That's what I did. He checked, I won the pot.
He was chasing the flush.
Just didn't make sense to me to me
BTW two hands later turn king makes my Ahigh flush and opponents full house /images/graemlins/frown.gif
down to 690

If you check you have a few benefits:

1) you keep the pot small enough (hopefully) so you can get to show-down. If you bet and he puts in a big raise, you are sick.

2) you snap off a bluff if someone makes a play at the pot if they miss their draw. If you bet, you probably dont get this.

Essentially, this way if they have nothing, you will make more money off them rather then betting.

Naturally you miss the value bet if they have K/smaller or second pair.. but I think the benefits of checking outweigh the benefits of betting in this situation.

Yea this is definitely a check-call situation. Any value bet for him having 2nd pair, is going to result in you being raised.. soy ou only gain value if he has K and <10... and now you'll get the flush draw to bet at you.

I think if the river is a non-heart 2 i'd put in a value bet of 200 or so.

KTo is a tough hand to play out of position. I think it's ok to let this go preflop.

The pot is small, but I think you could have played a smaller pot. I think you could have led for 30. I think anyone who's playing for 30 would play for 50. There isn't much difference between 30 and 50, but it makes a difference on the turn.

You bet and you were called on the flop. If you have the best hand, you have to make the draws pay on the turn. On the turn, you only need to bet 2/3 the pot to make it incorrect for a flush draw (or middle pair) to continue.

On the river, I'd check and call a pot-sized bet. But it's tough to know where you are. I'd fold to an overbet.

(Someone has got to have a better answer than this.)
