Second Hand of Party $50+5

Hey guys, this is what happened in the second hand of tonight's $50+5.

Everyone still has ~1000 chips.
Blinds are 10/15.
Hero is CO.

Hero is dealt QQ.

Villain (UTG) minraises to 30.
4 folds.
LP calls 30.
Hero raises to 150.
3 folds.
Villain raises to 1000 (all-in)
LP folds.
Hero calls 850 and is all-in.

What I've been thinking about so far...

I feel my initial raise may have been too large, probably because this early in the tournament, I am playing without a feel for the table or any reads on any players.
I think I'd like to see a flop and take the chips when I have an overpair, or get to fold to an ace.
I feel the play is generally weaker during the very beginning of tournaments, which is why I called.

Please advise.

Since you only have a few players left to act behind you PF, you can make a smaller raise (maybe from 100-120?) but raising to 150 isn't a big mistake or anything.

Given that this is very early on, and he's making a ridiculous overbet, I call.
