I think this is a pretty easy fold, but I'd try to throw out a small blocking bet on the river. Lone 8s or 7s would call this, and you can fold to a sizeable re-raise. Now, when you check this river scare card, you can't know if he really did hit his draw or if he's betting his 8 thinking it's good.
