BB was 57/14/1.4, felt like I had to call down with only one overcard, and UTG bailing on the turn.

My standard lines are either that, or raise flop bet turn and check river, sometimes bet river.

Raise the flop...IMO you played this pretty weakly...Is he the kind of player to bet OESD, mid pair, etc?

Think about this for a moment... What would you do if the villain is the type to raise you if he thinks you are going for the river steal- representing the straight?

I considered raising the flop, I guess I've been getting beat by a lot of donkbets lately. Villain had AJ.

I wasn't referring to this particular hand so much, more as my play in general is to sometimes bet the river, sometimes not. This hand I probably just check behind. BTW are you saying you think the villian will cr as a bluff on this river?

I like this line if Villian cooperates. It looks like the cheapest way to get to showdown.

raise, bet, check usually. If villian molds to it, it gets u there cheaper unless he three bets u and leads the turn.

He could be betting mid pair, but I see a jack here as well. Besides I think would think 77-99 gets three bet...but maybe not

If villain has a jack there I doubt he's checking the turn. He'll probably keep donking unless you raise the turn, which defeats the point.

I'm asking because good players must always consider a move ahead based on the variables that are presented. I liked your line of thought, but there is more to the picture.

PS: I bet the river, fold to a raise.
