Yea, in 2-4 NL at the casino. 3 monster pots: doubled to 200 with 66 vs. 22, then doubled that up with my jacks over 10s vs dude's 10's over As. Last big pot was for 150, AK held up against QQ. I'm feeling good right now.

Not hating. Even if you were a good player, as you made $500 in such a short period of time it is clear that your standard deviation is high enough that you should expect to have an at least $1,000 downswing, relatively soon. This is even taking into account that you could be a good, winning player, which based upon the way you wrote your posts, I doubt. Also, no one likes a brag thread.

Posts that talk about how much you won/lost in a certain night, how this hand held up or didn't hold up against another hand, etc, are usually met with ridicule here. It's because we've all had it happen to us before, and we don't care. If you really do want to learn, since it seems like you play NL cash games, read the Mid-High PL/NL (http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/postlist.php?Cat=&Board=plnlpoker) and Small Stakes PL/NL (http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/postlist.php?Cat=&Board=ssplnlpoker) forums if you want to improve your game and get better. Read the hands, formulate your own opinion on how you'd play the hand, and see how your reasoning compares to others. Post responses, and your own hands as well. This is what many of us do, and is the best way to learn and improve. Posting random results from one night and how one hand held up over another, however, is not.

What casino was this at and do you know the 2+2 table greetings ? What books if any have you read ? You say you just started playing live - so you played online prior ? You're local but I assume your not a UCB student with a name like that. I'll refrain from making some lame One Call Away or Holiday Inn joke. (Someone else who will do it well please do.) By the way, making 500 dollars you first session of poker is like that first hit of heroin. You'll spend a long time chasing it that initial high and your going to lose a lot of money in the process.
