For me, it was throwing booklets on to a conveyor belt. I had to put one booklet in every 0.8 seconds. I held this job for one day.

How about yours?

I was a telemarketer trying to distribute information about a gated retirement community. This can be really depressing work since at least one person you call per day is going to be recently deceased. (Perils of the demographic).

I've done plenty of crappy service industry work, worst may have been in an ice cream parlor for six bucks an hour. I just hated that job for some reason.

one time when I was working as a landscaper for my town, my boss told me to dig a 3'x3'x3' hole next to an asphalt walkway so we could install a handle for electric conduit. I spent three hours digging it and when I was finished my boss told me that the conduit was actually under the walkway, and that I had to fill the hole in. for those four or so hours I felt like the most useless part of the ountry's economy.

Sorting big pears from little pairs in an orchard. I was the only white person doing this and only a couple people spoke english. Plus I was about 6 inches taller than the average worker and the job had me reaching way down into these deep bins all day. Backbreaking handripping work. I quit after one day.

Anybody who bitches about immigrants taking real god fearing americans' jobs can go suck a dick.

Another shitty job I had was working in a cherry factory doing all kinds of repetitive work, bagging boxes, sorting cherries, making boxes, for minimum wage. This was an invaluable experience and I would recommend everyone do this .

It is amazing the [censored] work people get stuck doing for no money, and the sleazy treatment they get while doing it. And then people say they are lazy because they don't improve their station.

i had this job that i wanted to quit the first few days but my parents wouldnt let me. i was in data processing and for 8 hours a day i would type of millions of pages worth of meaningless numbers at full speed without breaks for $10/hr.

it was the biggest waste of my time and i resent my parents for making me stick with it for 4 months (they didnt want me to quit even after this length of time).

I did every bitch manual labor job this one company had to offer one summer. At one point I was forced to work overtime while moving an entire branch of the company in a giant truck. I mean, we're talking turbine engine parts and everything. Apparently they were just too broke to hire real movers. /images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Oh, and I sold cars for a little while too. That was cool/shitty all at the same time.

Let me see every job my parents made me do during the summer in HS....

Day Lily Farm Hand-I had to till dirt, then load it into a truck and fill walking trails around the farm as my main job.
They taught me how to fill orders for bulbs, I damaged about 2k worth of bulbs in 2 days and they caught me doing donuts in the truck I was using to fill the trails with. Fired after 3 weeks. In my defense I was 14, you don't give a 14 year old a truck and not expect him to do donuts at some point.

Cucumber Picker-Fired from Day Lily place, my Dad called his cousin who had farm asked him to put me to work. He took me out and let me pick cucumbers, I didn't realize cucumbers had thorns, I had no gloves, lasted one day.

Tobacco Topper-I told my Dad Cucumber picking was not my calling, his cousin moved me to tobacco topping. Great if you like being out in the hot sun all day breaking off the top of tobacco plants.

That was just one summer, after that I did Stocking and cleaning at a Salvage Store, and then two summers at Cates Pickle Factory, which were dream jobs compared to these.

I suppose.

I haven't enjoyed any of the jobs I have ever done, poker lets me be my own boss, answer to no one, and I enjoy it and can play for 12 hours without thinking of excuses to leave or take many breaks.

It is what it is.

I did the kitchen in McD's for two summers. We had a P.O.R. code, we'd get on the mike and announce, "P.O.R five, P.O.R. five," which meant 'pussy on register five'. Fun times for a teenager.

Once I POR'd a football player's girlfriend. Almost didn't survive.

Telemarketed for a chimney sweep company. "If you don't clean your chimney, your house will fill with carbon monoxide and you and your family will die. What day is best for you for us to come out?"

I worked for a corporate housing company one summer in Houston. My job was organizing non-ac'd warehouses of stock furniture and/or moving furniture into and out of apartments, many of which were on the third floor, using nothing bigger than a 2-door Explorer for hauling the cargo. Basically, my job was to sweat all summer for 7 bucks an hour. It sucked.

At least my gf at the time worked the office for the same company, so I got some workhead from time to time.
