Tonight's show certainly has to be better than yesterday's 5/10 NL passive fest. Even with the pink chips added, it wasn't the best night to watch. On Wednesday night, there was talk of doing a 25/50 NL game, but don't know if that will really be the case. As always, you can watch at www.thebike.com (http://www.thebike.com) and click on live at the bike along the left or put http://216.53.204.10/bike/bike_300.asx into your Windows Media Player.

It seems they given up completely on limit which is such a disappointment as I don't play much NL.

I miss when it used to say next to the Wednesday game "Its not all about No Limit". I guess now it is just no limit, cheesy tournaments, gimic pink chips and big breasted bimbos playing poorly.

Maybe its time to cancel my subscription to the archives (especially since they have given up on organizing them like they first did)

There had been some talk of them doing shows with limit poker at higher levels during Legends. Have you emailed your concerns about how poorly the archives are now at live@thebike.com? It wouldn't be terrible if they stuck with their usual schedule of a limit game every Wednesday night, but don't know if this Poker Channel thing will hamstring them into showing only NL.

I don't like to complain a lot anymore about the show, as being behind the scenes for a couple of days makes you aware of how difficult the show is, but this hasn't been the best week for LATB. Bart and Shirley both sounded very tired Wed. and Thurs., and Shirley remarked on her blog that she was very bored last night trying to say something other than "limped around, 5-ways" and such. I think we all know that it can be painful just watching boring poker, but commentating boring poker is even more painful. It might not be a bad idea for Bart and the others to come up with some topics to talk about before the show in the event that its a snooze-fest.

I too would like to see a lot of limit games.

It will come as no surprise to regulars here that I am very disappointed with the production. It's such a great idea. I keep coming back though. It's the "only game in town."

Why can't they start on time???? For a broadcast, thirty seconds late is not on time. It's 6:05, and I'm starting the Media Player, getting the promo, killing the player, starting it... If for some reason they can't start on time, at the very least they should put up a sign rather than running that promo.

08-05-2005, 09:09 PM
Right on, put up a we're late sign. we forgive you for that, but the promo is gettin iold

dabigbadrook
08-05-2005, 09:10 PM
My 2 cents

1. Start on time or post a message immediately saying the broadcast will be delayed.
2. Cut the broadcasts to three times a week.
a. 1 Night High limit poker (30-60 or above)
b. The traditional Friday night High No limit game
c. "Gimmick Night" pink chips, centerfolds, and such
3. Rotate announcers half way thru the show (Most announcers for this show are great, just limit their shifts to two hours apiece so they will be fresh)

The delays in the start time are MADDENING....

Kevmath
08-05-2005, 09:11 PM
Or they could just film the floor, that should be easy enough to do. Last night, the show started at 9:15, and it seemed they had been going for a few minutes, as it wasn't acknowledged they had started late.

WE have had some difficulties. We just realized that we were not streaming for the first 15 minutes. Tonight's event is 1000NL holdem with AMir Vahedi and JESUS!!! James Woods may becoming on later as well.

Have not had the patience to sit through the entire promo but spent some time moving through it and have not found it. I think the PC police censored it.

I've been a long time watcher, and have obviously never posted before as this is my first post to the 2+2 forums.

I am in the process of planning a trip out to L.A. and would be very interested in playing on the L@TB table while I'm there. Is there anything special that I would need to do in order to ensure that I could play on the day(s) that I am there?

Going back to the "Barry" thing on wed night, which Jesus is it? The horrible go for broke Jesus, Chris Ferguson, our lord and savior, or Jesus from Taco John's?

Just remembering the Barry greenstein thing on wed LOL

All these ideas are good except-----

Whose going to pay for this?

You might start paying to watch more than the archives if you dont watch it.
I'd let them work all this out in their own time.

Quit trying to produce the show.

Dopey
08-05-2005, 09:14 PM
They used to seperate into catagories (Limit / No Limit / Special Tournaments) so it was easier to find what you wanted.

They also used to include a brief not saying what the game was or a brief description of what you would see, now it just says "08/03 - Game".

Now if I want to go back and watch a $200 No Limit I have to open each one and watch a minute or two to find out if it is the game I want.

Just overall disappointing. I have send several e-mails complaing about this but as has been said elsewhere they are the only game in town.

Jesus Ferguson doesn't usually play cash games, so I'll assume it's the other Jesus we've seen in the NL games. The Barry thing is my fault, I jumped to a conclusion with that one, so pin all that blame on me.

Dopey

I would happily pay for the show if it showed me more of what I wanted.

However I realize what I want may not be what others want so it is unrealistic of me in some ways.

I for example hate the table talk sections. I play enough live poker to know how boring people are. I understand the commentators need a break at times so I'd prefer rotating commentators. Probably wont happen because some people like table talk and hate the commentators.

We need at least five "That's how you got balls, baby!" lines from Amir tonight. Interesting that they positioned him in the 9 seat right over the mic.

At first I was trying to study tells. For that it obviously would help to be able to hear what the players say. But the single microphone and the camera work aren't really condusive to casing the players.

It seems the change to the new section of the Bike has really killed most of the good camera angles, the overhead view isn't the best. Where's Amir's unlit cigar, he needs to break that out and maybe he hands will hold up.

You would back a 10/20 NL pro over Daniel Negreanu? Granted, Negreanu is known as a tournament player, but he plays 1.5k/3k thru 4k/8k cash games. That's a silly thing to say. Now if you said the same thing against TJ Cloutier or Phil Hellmuth, I would have to agree.

Why check raise? Dr. BB had a bluff catcher hand. If he was going to stay in the hand, he was much better off calling it down rather than check-raising. The QT called it down and made a very nice profit.

Kevmath
08-05-2005, 10:15 PM
I agree that how much weight someone lost isn't really something that needs to be talked about. Regarding who's the biggest fish, I'd say Allen's definitely more of a "fish" than Amir would be, based on previous broadcasts Allen has been involved with.
