I'm not even an MTT guy but I'm pretty fascinated by this bet and the results these two are pulling in.

Post any updates in here, if you like. Does anyone know where gank got his 300 or so points from last night?

Also, colson and ttiu, are you guys going after this bounty?

08-05-2005, 02:30 PM
I saw him take 3rd in a Limit O8 tourney, and 10th in a PLO8, i think.

As an aside, i'm sure it's quite a large range, but about how much profit will these folks at the top of the TLB be seeing over the month? Probably depends on some of the HUGE tourneys, but would they expecte to be +100k for the month, $500k or so with a huge score to tip the scales?

note the TLB finishes for gank. none over 200. most of these will not end up counting. Gigabet can have a 100 last places and 1 win for 500 points and will be better off. This race is about closing to pick up big points, and so far I would say gank is way behind. I don't doubt his abilities, maybe he has been running bad at FTs, but right now gigabet has a big lead in my book.

I'm guessing it varies, but I imagine it would be around $30k most months.

I'm still thinking about it, but right now I am going for it. It's not set in concreate, but if I think I have a chance, we'll see what happens.

Gigabet and Sheets have a 10,000$ bet that Giga will win the TLB on Stars this month.

Has the amount been disclosed? I had thought that was being kept fairly secret between the two of them.

You sure? I thought it was 10K. Because Sheets said he'd pay half of his prize to any big name guy who beat Giga.

He's said he'll pay 5k, not half the bet. I'm assuming it's for a lot more than 10k (as scary as that sounds, lol).

Then why all the posts talking about whoever beats him getting 5K?

Gank is playing very very tight in the 109 rebuy and donking off half his stack then doubling through allin as a dog repeatedly.

dmk
08-05-2005, 04:25 PM
its not even sheets that took the bet. its nip/tuck

he's getting 2:1 and the minimum bet gigabet offered was 10k, so he offered 5k for whoever beats gigabet as a bounty. refer to the thread jj linked to

Bump...Giga could be in big trouble if Riverloser decides to try the claim the Gigablock bounty after Riverloser picked up a big score in the $200+15 NL. That 2nd place was worth a huge number of TLB points.

No offense meant...but a 2nd place in the Sunday 200 is worth about 1250 points. Thats a pretty big hurdle to overcome against someone who is likely to have 29 other TLB results for a month (if its a random winner who isn't going to make 30 results, its not a big deal). Certainly Gigabet is in trouble in the bet no matter what, unless he can make a score in the Sunday event.

Oy, I think I am out $100. Every time I sign onto stars, ttiu is at a final table. Nice work though - if giga loses it will be good to have it be by another 2+2'er.

Gank has better results than I would think for NLHE. I've played against him before and I wasn't too impressed. I know he's good at stud and omaha, because I've been impressed by him at those games.
(I'd like to add I suck at poker in general btw).
