Calls, quickly. You're behind 6x, JJ and AA exactly, by my reckoning. Oh and AT but there's no way he has that.

yeah, call. and next time either annonymize yourself all the way or not at all. hero = uclabruinz, for others.

edit: which is his nick here. maybe others figured that out before me.

What a moron. I don't care about anonymity anyway. Don't know why I even tried.

Question, why did you open bet for 90 on the river?

Very good question. It was instinctive more than anything else. I'm still learning to slow down and think things through. Didn't want to check and invite a big bet back at me. Wasn't confident enough to make a large bet. At this point I just wanted to get out of this hand and see where we were both at.

Anyone want to guess what he had before I reveal?

Why did you want to get out of the hand quickly, villain has no idea you flopped 2pair, bet out the flop or check-raise. Your weaker river bet looks like a perfect opportunity for villain to steal the pot.

Im gonna guess he had KJ.

Why did you want to get out of the hand quickly...

Because I was playing like a giant vagina that was afraid of being shipped back to Step 1.

At this early level, I think you make at least a 2x pot bet to open after the flop. If they call with a 6 there then they're not playing well. I think in the long run you have higher EV by opening the betting with top two pair in this situation in which you had checked PF from the big blind. No one is putting you on KQ here, so you can induce aggressive players with a K, Q or draw to play back at you and often lose, while at the same time you price out most players from drawing with a 6 or a gut shot.

Finishing 6-9 at Step 4 is basically losing anyway.

Finishing 6-9th is all losing, but to highly varying degrees. There is a big difference between 7th, with it's freeroll to play a $55 step 3 SNG, and 9th with it's freeroll to play a $6 step 5 SNG.

At any rate, he did have K-J. I folded and he showed. I lost an early chance to double-up and head for the step 5 $2k SNG. Instead, I limped into 7th, down a step to Step 3, where I promptly was sent back to Step 1. I suck.
