this is a theoretical situation:

let's say you have a bad hand that has some hope of winning, for example, 57s or something like that. You are in late position but very short stacked. You would always fold except that there are at least four other players in the pot, you will call all in so you have a chance to make 4-5x as your stack. Should you call all in and try to take this big pot down by getting lucky? or should you wait until you get a good hand and shove in an hope to double up.

You actually have a better chance of winning heads up all-in with a trash hand. Say you go all-in and are called by AKo. You are a 3-2 dog. But if you add 2 other hands to the mix, you are as much as a 4-1 dog. Sure, you'll quadruple up, but woudn't you rather double up and bide your time for another chance to double up?

I would wait and try to get headsup. The key is not to get down to 1 or 2 bets. Make the move earlier. Of course sometimes you get a beat that takes you low.
