Sunday while waiting in the check out line, at the Hold'em discount store, they had patience on sale and the SPM can always use a little more patience. This guy behind the SPM, enquired if he had ever been to the Valley of Patience or was this his first visit. It was obvious he was a card player. Having been there before all that was needed was a nod of the head, to the affirmative. "Oh yea, I've been there myself" he began, "got to watch out for them there Rocks. They don't say much, they see everything, and when they move, look out because a bolder is about to be dropped on your head! SPM was button holed again! All it took was a nod and it was obvious what was coming next. Bad Beat Story #1...after the fifth Bad Beat Story, he wants to know how much patience does the SPM take into the VoP?

Damn good question! The SPM usually buys about ten bad beat emotional stabilizers with batteries encluded, they come in packs of five. After a bad beat, stabilization of ones emotions is a must. Running out of patience in the Valley would be like running out of water in the middle of the desert. The problem is however, sometimes after the first beat, you use up three stabilizers holding yourself back from killing the winner, two to get the "NICE HAND, SIR" out of your mouth. An the other five stabilizers are used to stop yourself from steaming some chips away in the next five hands. By the time bad beat number two comes along, your out of emotional stabilizers. Damn good question! So what's the answer?

Buy more PATIENCE...no...you can only carry around so much patience, one five pack in each of your back pockets is a great deal of extra weight. Patience is very heavy, to much of a good thing can slow you down. What we have here, is failure to read the directions.

Directions:

Never let your patience run thin, always replace battery pack on stabilizers, before you run out of patience. Never replace or work on an emotional stabilizer at the table, steaming is possible and you could get burnt. Walk the Casino floors and locate a place to let the steam out before all patience is lost.

Well that's easy enough to remember, it looks like conservation is the answer. Using up to much patience after the first bad beat will cause a huge leak in our game. So when the first bad beat comes it's time to take a walk and recharge the battery on the emotional stabilizers, or even replace it, but you must do it away from the table so you don't get steamed.

SPM,...try two five packs and take a walk...
