The buyin amount would be helpful but okay...

I usually despise slowplaying (At least I hate about 90% of the slowplays I see posted on 2+2), however its fine in this spot, as it's reasonably likely the BB has just about nothing here and no draw as well.

The turn is fine, and probably the river is fine as well, especially if this is a lower buyin where people will go buck wild with random 2 pair and crap.

If you got beaten by 43o Im sorry /images/graemlins/frown.gif

hey, curtains- thanks for the response. Buy-in was $20. I hate slow playing generally too, but flop seemed harmless. Do you just call his reraise on river ever or just go for the push?

I would have called his raise and don't risk losing to a possible straight. If he was bluffing or maybe had 2 pair (which I don't expect) you still take a nice pot.

Btw I also would have made a small bet (400 - 800) at the flop. As you say flop is harmless but since he is BB he might have draw to the straight. Checking doesn't give you any extra info on his hand.

I dunno....honestly a lot of donkeys ranges will be much wider than hands that beat you here, and they would never consider folding with 2 pair in a headsup pot. It depends a bit on how you feel about your opponent.

this is a way too weak tight approach to the hand. the check on the flop was fine and in my mind necassary if you want anything more than the blinds here because you chase off queen rag and anything less than that. let him catch up you are way ahead. if he has 34 then so be it i go down here because so many players at this level when in bb and see the flop and hit an akward two pair always think its good. the push i feel is good and necassary because if you win you take a dominating chip lead over the table and will be able to punish the rest of the table

Wait, I was too weak tight? But you like like the check on the flop and you like the reraise push on the river . . . what other line are you suggesting? /images/graemlins/confused.gif

I like the check on teh flop. Don't min bet the turn, it screams "pay me clown", I would have bet the pot or something.

I would have just called his first raise on the river. Even donkeys make hands that beat you, even heads up.

looks EXACTLY like the turned straight.

Just call the river re-raise, you don't have the nuts.

(edit to elaborate...)

I doubt he's waking up on the river here with a hand that you beat like 22, 55, or two pair.
