Playing at Caesar's IN last night just sat down at the table four hands before. I have won two hands with no show down and am up about 80 dollars. Villan seems to be a solid player with a good stack.
Hero has 680 in BB with AA
Villan has about 900 in Sb

UTG folds, UTG +1 Calls, MP1 Calls, MP2 calls, Cu Calls, Button calls. Villan raises to 40. Hero reraises to 80. (I know this should be more but I tried to be fancy) All fold to Villan who calls.
Flop (185 in pot)
2c 5s 6h
Villan bets 150. Hero raises to 450. Villan goes all in. Hero calls.
Turn (1385 in pot)
9C
River
10S
Results in white below. Any comments?

Don't get fancy.

This raise gives villian huge implied odds to hit his set.

There's 140 in the pot, and it's only 40 more for him to call. He only has to get like $100 more out of you when he flops his set to make this call +EV.

Raise to $120-$140, if he still calls, then you can get it all in at any point, and it will be +EV in the long run (seeing as how you got almost 20% of your stack in PF)

Thanks, thats pretty much what I thought. Preflop needed to be more. Post Flop, would a smaller raise have been appropriate I wonder though. With my stack size the 300 more basically puts me completely commited to calling 150 more.

Against most fish, I'm not folding here, as they will often be going all in with KK QQ JJ etc... Fish love overpairs.

Very simple... Reraise more preflop, anything over 100 makes it -EV for villain to call for set value...Any raise on flop pot commits you after he leads out for 150.

Yeah, if you make it 140 preflop you're all good. If he wants to try to hit sets for 1/6 of his stack, let him.

Plus 140 makes it easy to get it allin by the turn with two pot bets.
