Should I attempt to feed it milk with an eye dropper? It looks like it's only a day old.

My parents are telling me to just let it die.

Or you could just look up the local animal rescue shelter and bring it there.

Either try to feed it and save it or kill it. Don't just let it starve.

I was in the exact same boat a few years ago. I called a vet and they said to feed it kitten milk (or was it puppy milk?) mixed with crushed up tums for extra calcium. You can get said kitten/puppy milk at a pet store. I think you also want to warm it up a bit, and an eye dropper is the way to go.

It will still probably die, though - this is what the vet told me. For some reason its really hard to save rabbits that are taken from there mother too soon. The one that I tried to save started to get better for a little bit - even hopped around some - but then stopped drinking the milk and eventually did die a day later /images/graemlins/frown.gif

Still, I vote for trying to save it. I think its gonna bug you knowing that its out dying in your yard, waiting for some dog to come eat it. You could try an animal shelter, but they may not be willing to put the time into trying to save it since its chances are pretty slim.

kill it and then sneak into some one's house and put it in their soup pot.

There is an animal rescue organization close to my house. I was talking to the lady that owned it once and asked the same question about what to do with abandoned babies. She said that they usually aren't really abandonded - that the mother is just out looking for food. Leave the baby alone and the mother will come back.

She also said that she has had several people bring in boxes of baby rabbits to the shelter. She thanks them for the effort and after they leave, she breaks their necks and feeds them to the eagles.

Well...

I went to the store and bought an eyedropper and tried to feed it milk, but it kept squirming around, even hopping around. I discovered it hade more strength than I thought because it panicked whenever I touched it.

I then came inside and read the thead suggestions and took it to an animal shelter.

The animal shelter is open from 10 am to 11 am only? WTF? It's open eight hours on Saturday though. No one was there so I left it in a box in little dog house outside the animal shelter door.

Don't rabbits usually keep their babies in the safety of the rabbit hole?

RABBIT STEW
1 rabbit
6 small onions, chopped
1 bay leaf
½ cup chopped celery
2 tsp. salt
2 cups diced carrots
3 raw potatoes, cut up
3 tbs. flour
1 tbs. chopped parsley

Clean rabbit and soak in salted water. Drain, disjoint it in pieces for serving and place in a large kettle with onions, bay leaf, celery and salt. Cover with cold water and cook slowly until tender, about two hours. Add chopped carrots and potatoes and continue cooking until these vegetables are done. Smooth flour with a little cold water and add slowly. When thickened, add chopped parsley and serve.

Thats a beautiful dog, you should definately feed the rabbit to the dog, dog is much better.

here's my lady (http://www.greenweenie.com/e107_plugins/autogallery/autogallery.php?show=The+Dog%2F0127.JPG)

as far as the rabbit, I think you should let nature take it's course. to many people now that want to screw with nature, if mommy left the rabbit, there's a reason.

do what that one guy did, nurse it back to health, then make a website saying if you dont get $30K in donations by X date, you are going to kill and eat him. When I saw thta page, he was already over $10K.

Thats an even better idea than a jump to conclusions mat
