at freshmeat.net you can find the "firefox" of just about anything you want.

OSS is truely amazing and way too overlooked.

I use openoffice all the time(even though I have access to a legal copy of excel)--it is pretty good. The spreadsheet is excel compatible and reads excel files very well. I prefer gnumeric when I use linux/unix, but I have never installed under windows. The one gripe I have about open office under windows is that it is very slow to start up.
