$10 rebuy on Stars. Blinds 3000/6000/300. 19 players left. 1 more and junp in money. I have 75K in 12th place. Button with 160K open miniraises to 12K. What should I do?

This seems like an easy push. You could do a stop and go, but you need to double up anyway. Am I missing someting?

I make it 40k. Shows I'm pot committed and if he pushes, I can still get away from it and try to make that next money jump. AJ is crap, and I'd play it the same way with 72o, depending on reads. Since there are no reads posted, I think this becomes a basic blind defense post, and really shouldn't have anything to do with your holding.

was his standard raise a miniraise? i would push here, i think you can get him to fold alot of hands and still be ahead or in a coinflip with ones he calls with

have he made such a minraise before in late position?
have you seen him fold previously when he raised from late position? what amount did he raise?

barring any reads, I would push here all the time

Were his previous button steals min raises also?? If so, I push.

He had miniraised before but not from the button. I pushed and villain called with QQ. I had seen villain limp UTG with JJ late in the tournament. I didn't give much thought to the miniraise. Thought he might be stealing cheaply from shorter stacks on minibubble.

Poooosh - unless you're dealing w/ a player you know to be tricky or rockish. There is a real possiblity he is just trying to steal the blinds w/ q8 k9 somthing like that..

Proper Blind defense does take into account what you have. If you are frequently defending w/ 72o, you are playing incorrectly.
