ok.. still relative noob in MTT's. Play mostly sng's. About two-five MTT a month. Anyway, anotehr AK hand.. It's late in a $20. about 100 left, pays 85.

I'm getting to HATE ak in early position. I have too much stack to open-push I would guess (10k and blinds are 400-800). In thinking later, I'm thinking about just limping and re-raising all in if someone comes over. Or maybe a slightly bigger raise drives this guy out PF? What do you think.

I don't think it is a matter of having AK in early position but more on how you play it. You have a comparatively decent stack, led with a decent PF raise and got called by the BB who got you covered. What I cannot understand is why you for pushing after the PF caller led out where you are drawing with nothing but 2 overcards on a 2-flush board with none of your suit? /images/graemlins/confused.gif

I know. I know...

Here was my thinking. I'm not saying it's right... if this guy had a decent hand (like A 10), why would he lead at the pot? Obviously, I will bet if he checks, right? So the bet seemed like a bet that didn't want to get called. Maybe he had a smallish pair.

Anway, I know I played this hand badly. I need to learn to let go of AK after the flop when someone shows strength. I get to attached. I actually let it go twice preflop in this tourney earlier (both times it was big raise, big reraise and I thought "why get involved here?")
