View Full Version : Killing Poker

After reading numerous posts to RGP, by "GCA", I have decided the poster's intent is to kill casino poker. That's the purpose of the posts. The poster's primary weapon of choice, is the issue of "cheats and cheating". "Collusion", is the biggest ememy of poker players. Protect yourself, because the house can't stop persons, who are (apparently) doing nothing wrong at the table, who are "playing out of the same pocket". Other than that, the average casino poker player, will hardly ever be "cheated" at a poker table.

I haven't read too much from GCA, but I was under the impression that they were speaking more of past cheating by players who frequented the upper stratospheric high limit games ($200-$400 and up).

Maybe I'm naive, but I really don't worry too much about collusion at the limits I play. For one thing, I don't think there are many players who are good enough to make much use of collusion even if they were to attempt it.

Rounder-

Not sure if you were responding to my post or Tony's.

My only point was that there is a very fine line between trapping and/or ganging up on unsuspecting players... And simply giving them 2 to 1 on their money.

In order to successfully collude, all colluders must understand the game extremely well in order to make any worthwhile profits from it. It's rare to find two people in the same game who fit into this catagory, let alone two people who happen to know each other, and then again are willing to collude. At least at the limits I play (up to 20-40).

they may indeed have been cheating and should be fired if so. but my dream game would be against a bunch of dealers trying to collude against me.

Please ask MS Sunshine how many honest people, i.e. not money laundering people, can afford to lose $50,000 to Mr.Boyd?
