I never call nowadays as much as I did in these two hands, so I think I'm doing something wrong here.

Fold the river hand 1

Raise the turn hand 2. Don't want to let a higher spade get a free draw. I raise the river too.

Hand 1: Sure, whatever, with the calling. That looks fine up until the river. You made your flush, right? Raise the river.

Hand 2: I fold to the minraise preflop, but once you make your flush, GO!

I was afraid my opponnent had the better flush (he did) and I didn't want to lose all my chips. I didn't lose all my chips; maybe I should have. I'm still uncomfortable on this one.

The process of posting the hand was enough to make me realize how wrong I played this hand. I was embarassed when I finished playing this hand and I'm even more embrassed now. I was thinking of hand #1 while I played hand #2 and it made me freeze up. There's no reason I should have given a higher spade the chance to beat me.

Heh, I misread the post. Thought the flop was rainbow.

I would raise the river in hand 1, because you are obviously playing a weak player who will call with an absurd range of hands (any flush, any 2 pair, any trips , sometimes any top pair etc etc).

You can't afford to worry about this when your opportunity cost is zero. If he's got a higher flush, bust out and fire up another game.

You really shoulndt be playing these hands at the 11's. Theres no need to play fancy to beat the 11's. Just stick with basic robotic strategy and you will achieve a good ROI. You just have to know correct bubble play, which takes a long time to learn.

Search adanthars robotic strategy if you want to re-read it!

Though raising/betting both of these before you hit often works, it's pretty marginal in these cases. The turn play is standard. You've got to raise the end though with a flush, and it's really not close.

Oh, and the T9s preflop call is probably a bad one OOP.

Limping JTs in the CO behind huge amounts of limpers is a very, very good idea though.

These are probably good hands to learn to play for a profit at lower levels because I imagine you have to play them for profit to beat higher levels for any decent amount.
