I'm in, I am willing to bet it is my 1st win on party for a whopping 400$ vs 10K for every other MTT they offer.

I have a feeling, I am either going into level 2 with 4K+ or I am not going in

I was in it. Dissapointing to say the least. Lost an early coinflip when my pocket jacks lost to AQ and then took a worse beat when someone's AQ took out my kings to send me packing.

i played one a few days ago and as best I could tell the pay-out was ridiculous.

It looked like everyone who won their first table got $14 or something. and 1st wsa $410.

But I might have been misreading the table (and/or they might have changed it).

They're still in beta-testing so not sure there is any answer to 'how often do they run them?'

I think i'll try it...what are the rules though? top 3 from each table advance? do they keep their chips or start over when a new round starts? and yes winner only gets $400 but hopefully in the future there'll be bigger buy-ins and bigger prizes.

edit: nm, found the info here (http://www.partypoker.com/games/tournaments/shootout.html)

thanks for posting the rules link.

those are some weird freaking rules.
is it really a 'shootout' if the top 3 from each table advance??
it's like a retarded MTT version of STEPS in a way....except you keep the same amount of chips to the next table.

I'm not liking how these are set up at ALL...but maybe I'll change my mind.

I played in one on Saturday night, they give half the pool to people who get 1st-3rd on the first round, another 25% for R2 then 15% for R3, the final round was 51 people, and the last 10% of the pool was shared among the last 8 people. I came 14th out of 1556 and won about 40 dollars or so, after a guy wonderfully limp called 2/3rds of his stack UTG with 22, blargh. They really need to sort out those payments if this is going to work, nothing for R1 is a good place to start.
