party 33 on the bubble with 4 players
Level:7 Blinds(150/300)
Seat 5: Otherguy ( $2020 )
Seat 6: Hero ( $4522 )
Seat 7: Shortstack1( $604 )
Seat 9: Shortstack2 ( $854 )
Dealt to Hero in the BB [ Tc 7s ]
Shortstack1 is all-In [604]
Shortstack2 is all-In [854]
Otherguy folds
Hero ?
604 + 854 + 150(sb) + 300 (bb) for 1908 and i need to call 554 more to knock two people out. is this worth the gamble?
if not, how good of a hand do i need?
Newbie poster here, trying advice for the first time...
I have no problem with calling this, for many reasons.
1) Your stack is huge.
2) More importantly, because barring a rare split, one of the small stacks will be eliminated or fully crippled.
3) If you win, you're up 3-1 on the other guy; if you lose, you're still up 2-1.
4) I think your cards are more likely than not to be live. I'd probably be more willing to call with this than a weak ace.

FWIW, this is just as true whether or not Hero calls.

"chooooo choooooooo" - ALL ABOARD!!! you're still big stack ITM when one triples up. 4-1 doesn't cut it for T7o 3-way, but who knows. i'd call for kicks (<-- now there's a sound reason)

thats what i thought. i can just sit back and watch them kill each other and basically coast into the top two, if not take the whole thing with this big stack.

Clear call. The overpush could be made by just about anything in this spot. If the original pusher is moving with any two, the next guy is correct to overpush with pretty much any two. Something like 92s would be worth pushing since the 2nd guy wants the big stack to overcall. If the bigstack wins the pot, he gets 3rd and he also gets 3rd if he wins the pot. So in theory his range here is huge here since say the 1st pusher wins 50% of the time HU but only 30% in a 3-way pot.
Even if you do the math, T7o will never have less then 20% equity unless someone has an overpair or has you dominated. Even against AK and QJ you have ~23% equity.

Yes it does if the other hands are not much more than random. Even against all overcards you have 20% equity here easy.
