Do I give the guy respect for his raise? he seems to be aiming it right at the shortstacked coldcaller

Tough one. It is a VERY close decision, and folding would be a good play also. However, I push. Then again, maybe I suck. Lets see what everyone else thinks /images/graemlins/wink.gif

This hand is very situational, and any reply is debatable.

The question is: why would he "aim" his raise at the short stack. He has pot committed himself if you go over the top. My experience is that this raise is usually AA and he want's the short stack to put all his chips in with AK/any PP before he gets to see the flop and changes his mind. He can also hope that if short stack calls you fall in love with the big pot and come along too.

I'd push. At the 22s people get very horny with AA-QQ and generally don't massively overbet. I think you are a favourite way too often for you to lay it down. I see people make these bets with A4s all the time. Of course I have some kind of read that helps me call/push here, even if it only is a PT read it helps.
