I have bet the NFL for the last two years with a win rate at or around 40%. However I made these bets for small amounts of money basically for the entertainment value. I am interested in becoming a better sports bettor so I saw in previous threads that Wong's book is good but I was wondering if the consesus agreed with that or if there is another poplular selection. Also I could use some help in what to look for in a spread I always did it by just looking over the spreads and finding one I liked, I am pretty sure this isnt the best way to go about it. Any info you can give me would be appreaictaed.

bet dogs, unders, and have proper money management skills. ie playing the same amount on each game ,and staying away from parlays and teasers .A monkey can flip coins and break even for the most part. Most players who lsoe in sports betting lose b/c of very bad money management skills, and letting the exotic bets kill them.
