What hands would you put villian on here? Would you have played it differently?

I don't know, but as soon as he raises my continuation bet, I'm history.

I think I'm throwing this hand away to the flop raise. So many people in this tournament level look down, see Axo and play it at almost any price PF. I give him credit for the Ace.

Although it wouldn't surprise me either if he had some crap like 87 either, but I'm not interested in finding out on this particular hand

AT-Ax, or he rivered quads

Ax, 8x or complete bluff..Maybe I'm limiting his possible hands too much, but that's my read.

I'd fold to his represented ace, but since you're posting this, I'm guessing it's 87 or 89

We know he either has an A or doesn't have an A.

If he doesn't have an A, I think he folds to your raise after the flop, thinking that you definitely have one.

If he does have an A, he does what he did--because he knows you do not have two of 'em, and he has a good kicker.

Figure him for A-J on up.

I would not have bothered with the continuation bet after the flop. Even with an A, you might have gotten a slow-play check out of him.

I'm trying to play a smaller pot here. I think a continuation bet to an aggressive player on this board says, "hey, I DON'T HAVE AN ACE, MAKE A MOVE!!". I check behind on the flop and see what happens. As it was played, I fold on the flop raise.

thanks for the thoughts. I was dumb on this hand and figured he was making a move with an 8 and didn't have the Ace.

I guess I should have checked the flop. It almost seems no matter what with this board you are going to have to fold no matter what, unless a Q hits, because the way I read this is if he makes any kind of big bet we are going to fold.

live and learn thanks again.
