I've never experienced something like this. My bankroll is well below what it should be now, yet I'm still playing.

1437 hands played.

9% hands won.

I simply don't believe this.

You should stop!!!! Play tomorrow when ur rested /images/graemlins/smile.gif

From that BB hand you posted earlier it looks like there is a pretty solid chance you are tilting hard. Maybe you should get some rest and come back at it tomorrow with a clear head?

... which begs the question:

If Bigwig and Freemoney had a love-child, would it be one of those mentally handicapped people that could beat the $109's?

yesss!!!! It's catching on!!

Big- Just stop playing for the night. You aren't going to get even, and even if you could, that isn't a good reason to continue. You should play to have fun and/or maximize EV.

You're EV will be better tomorrow when you are thinking straighter and after a rest.

If you think you don't play any worse when losing, you are kidding yourself. I believe this is true for all but the top .1% of players (and fish who tighten up when they are down).

Tomorrow is a new day. Go to sleep. Review some hands. Take comfort in the fact that you are a respected poster and you didn't get flamed for this post.

Since people have already posted that you should stop and I don't want to be redundant, I'll just ask at what buy-in you're playing at /images/graemlins/blush.gif

bigwig, im just like you in these situations. i cant handle the big downswings in one day without trying to pull out of it. im so stubborn that i just keep firing up more and more despite my utter hatred for the game at that moment. chalk the day up to variance... dont succumb to the temptation to battle any more tonight, especially with an unsound mind.

Sometimes you just got to write off the day as a loss.. the one thing is that I do believe these downswings make you a better player in the end, as it prepares you for the worst, and you know things aren't always as rosy as you'd like them to be. I'm one of the rare breed who doesn't tilt - you can't really afford to when 6+ tabling. Maybe the most I tilt is if on level 1 of another table and just took a beat on another, I might limp early with Ax suited, without thinking, then muck it when raised lol.

I'm gonna top your downswing, down 42 buyins(last 2 days) at the 10+1. /images/graemlins/frown.gif
But I'm still fighting and bankroll still healthy. But it sucks nonetheless.

Cheer up mate.

If you have the same leak as I do (play more when losing) then it in not only possible, it is likely to happen.

Yes, that is a leak for me as well. I actually like Curtain's method of usually playing 32 or 24 games a day instead.

I like to take breaks when Im running and/or playing bad too, but I dont like to take a night or a complete day off. The only way to try to break the variance is to keep grinding.

Now, if you aren't mentally prepared to play then taking a day off is for the best.

I normally judge my day by showdown percentage. If the average of % showdowns won between both accounts comes to < 65% I am losing big. From 65-70 breaking even. 70-75 winning. 75+ winning huge. Today I played 3k hands and averaged 65% showdowns won and lost 3 buyins. 11.5% hands won between both accounts.

last night i was down 25 buyins....today I got 9 of them back. I will save the rest for tomorrow. Stupid, stupid stuff happens sometimes.

Just curious ... what is your Went to Showdown %? Winning over 70% of your showdowns seems insanely high to me.

Had the same thought when I read that. If I were to have 70% showdown wins I would have to fold a lot of winning hands/only push with great hands. I would feel the same way about 60% in fact.
