Not sure if this was correct but was a fairly tight table and because of the check on the turn I pushed it. Was it a bit risky considering the call after the flop?

You were extremely lucky. Tight table or not, your very loose play for the sake of 60 chips PF is really going to get you in trouble. I honestly think you misstepped on every street. Complete the SB if you must, but baring a very favorable flop, check/fold the sucker. Save your 'tricky' plays for when it matters.

this thread will soon be awash with "fold preflop" posts

Thanks for the feedback. I would have normally folded this preflop if there were any raises or more callers but I thought that with less people in the pot, I could play more hands that I would normally have folded??
Or is that really only worth risking later in the game when the blinds have gone up substantially ?

Well, you can always play more hands behind a limper, or limps. Getting 5-1, of course you can complete, or even raise here, because it's button limper. I don't like contuination betting an ace, but whatever works.

The turn and river give any 5 a chance to beat an ace, so I guess you can bet the river.

Still, too laggy for my tastes.

I think this hand is correct WITH A READ. You probably got this guy to fold a hand like QQ who tried to trap you preflop and then the ace hit.

Definitely not standard.
