View Full Version : Heads-up in Tournament

This is a hand that I got in a local live Tournament. I know the guy that I´m heads-up against. I´ve played against him many times and he´s very agressive player, especially heads-up.
I had 37000 in chips and my opponent (Franky) had 63000 in chips. The blinds was 1000/2000. Franky had the button in front of him and posted SB and I posted BB.

Franky SB - raised 5000 to 7000 total
Me BB (Js-10c) - called the 5000 raise
The Flop:
Qc-Qd-9s

I checked my open-ended straight draw and Franky bet 10000 dollars. I instantly know that he didn´t hit anything (had a tell on him that day).
So I raised him 20000, I went all in.
Me - Check
Franky - Bet 10000
Me - Raise 20000 to 30000

At that time I was so sure that he would fold his hand but he called me with suited A-5 (hearts)
So any 8,10,J or K would inprove my hand to the winnig hand... (14 outs)

Did I make the wrong play?
Does anyone know how the precentages was for me to win?

I´m laying sleepless some nights wondering if I should played it different...

What do you think of my play?

14 outs = 51.2% to hit in 2 cards. but you have to subtract something in case you hit a J or T and an ace comes.

With your read on him there is no other way to have played this hand. You might could have folded preflop but you can only do that so much against a LAG, betting out postflop looks suspect so he could raise all in with most hands he raises preflop and then youre the one having to make the decision for your chips and he is getting the fold equity. Apparently you werent the only one who had a read though, that might be what you want to work on.
