View Full Version : Comedian: What Famous 2+2er . . .

. . . sits down in the 9 seat and is waiting for the button to pass to post for his first hand. The first hand he witnesses while waiting involves a head-up battle between seat 1 and seat 4. Seat 1 makes a small full house on the turn and they go quite a few bets. Seat 4 catches a two-outer on the river to make a bigger full house.

When seat 4 tables his winning hand, seat 1 goes ballistic. He throws the cards, tosses off a few f-bombs and generally goes crazy. (This is Commerce, naturally.) He stands up behind his seat and is muttering and flinging his arms uncontrollably.

I am in the two seat. The 2+2er looks around the dealer and past the now re-seated seat 1 and says, loudly, "Hi Andy, had any bad beats lately?"

i don't know who you're talking about, but that's a great story.

Snakehead?

Gabe, naturally.

My money is on Gabe, especially if it's in that amazing deadpan of his. Snakehead would have incorporated the dealer somehow and since the story didn't involve the 2+2er laughing so hard that he sprayed his hot coffee out his nose, it can't be mike l.

I don't know who you're talking about either but I enjoyed the story ans anxiousaly await the unveiling...not quite sure I get the whole 'going nutso' bit.

Last night I had 99 on board of 95275 with a 4-flush on board.
I lost a huge pot to a guy who had 55.
I told him "i had 99", he said, "ouch" and that was about it.
Next hand. This was online though.

Was Clarkmeister in town for the baseball game?

andyfox

Yes, but it wasn't him.

. . . .

Zeno, for his correct answer of . . . .

Snakehead.

But he and his dad, and me and my dad, went to Friday night's game. Both Clarkmeister and his dad came in Cardinals uniforms. Now we know where Dave gets his penchant for living dangerously.

The trivia question at the game concerned Dazzy Vance, who pitched for the Dodgers in the 1920s. My dad saw him pitch for them!

Now THAT'S old-school!!!!

FWIW - I was the radio broadcaster for the Dodgers single-A minor-league team in Vero Beach for 5 seasons and have met the likes of Vin Scully, Tommy Lasorda, Ralph Branca, Pee Wee Reese and a few others (as well as Gagne and Beltre who spent a season in VB on their way up).

LA is probably a good town to come in full visiting team uniforms with little risk to your person. Unless it's the Giants.

sounds like Tommy to me.

that's what i was thinking.

Wearing a Cards uni to Dodger Stadium isn't exactly the same as wearing a dodgers uniform in SF or wearing Yankee garb at Fenway (or vice-versa).

I have gone to Chavez many time in my Giants gear and have never had a problem. I was at the game last year, five rows behind Mrs. Bonds and Giants owner Peter Magawon, when Finley hit the walk-off slam. I received some remarks, but nothing offensive. In all honesty, I think it's worse for a Dodger fan to go to SF, especially back in the days of Candlestick.

Yea, and since LA fans typically show up in the 3rd inning and leave by the 8th inning, even if some of them do give you trouble, it won't be for very long.

sounds a lot like Tommy except that this was at the commerce.

I went to an L.A./Cardinals game in St Louis - and my Mom wore her Giants jersey....

SF Giants fans have two favorite teams they root for - the Giants and whoever's playing against L.A. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

I usually wear my Yankees cap to Dodger games, but, in honor of Clarkie, I wore my U of I cap, bright orange, obtained on campus recently when my nephew graduated.

did Tommy lose his LA privileges?

I read all of the replies. I know that you claim it was someone named snakehead but it couldn't be. It had to be Ed Miller. Well, if it wasn't Ed then something is wrong with the story. I just haven't figured out just what it is.

I'm pretty sure it was Clarkmeister but snakehead, Gabe and even lmd could pull this one off.

Yeah, Andy Fox. Amien and Raul know me as AF. Aundrea can point me out. Others know my face but probably don't know my name.

I can't claim credit for the avatar. I suspect Dynasty.
