whenever I lose 4 buyins at NL, I'm done for the day. Usually due to oncoming tilt. This doesn't happen too much thankfully.

The 50-100's are going to have a rude awakening pretty soon.

Only 300bb's at NL?? How long have you been playing for... a week? two weeks?

Yeah, I wish I could say I've only dropped 1000 once or twice.

How soon? I've been playing for more than five years and have rarely been around 50 bb's down in a day and never 100. If you are regularly experiencing those sorts of sessions, it probably means that you have a tilt problem or that you are not playing as well as you could.

If you are playing 4 tables and at least 4 hours a day it is bound to happen with fair regularity. I've had 100BB downswings 8tabling in less than an hour.

Exactly. Playing 3,000-5,000 hands per day will ensure vicious downswings, as well as delicious upswings, once in awhile.

Fine. But most of us don't play five kilohands a day, so it isn't accurate to say that everyone who has never lost 100 bets in a session is due for a "rude awakening".

Then why does your location say "belittling your sample size?"

if u one table an hour a day, then u wont catch the big swings per day. like said before, if ur playing 3k+/day ur gonna hit 100 pretty easily.

Whether you do it over one day or two weeks is not important. The important question really is:
what is your maximum downward deviation over any length of time.

I suspect that the player who's never experience a 100 BB drop in a day is primarily a B&M player. I used to claim the same until I started playing online. Online, I can squeeze a week's hands into a day. And if you've ever experienced a 100 BB drop ever, then it can happen in a day online, especially if you're multitabling.

I clicked 50-100 as my biggest downswing in a day ever. This was two days ago. Yesterday I lost 120BB in 2k hands. I blame this thread. You jinxed me.

Down 149.5BB over 1078 hands (full table) just this past weekend. Those hands were spread over a couple days and don't count short table play (I didn't play much this weekend and I split my time about 50/50 short and full).

Geeze that would be hard to do in that short amount of time at a full table. I feel the reason I had never hit -100BB in a day was becaseu I didnt play 6max until about a 3 weeks ago. Do you feel you downswing was tilt induced?

It's amazing to me that so few people have never had anything over 150 bets. I dropped >150 BB's yesterday playing 3 tables in under an hr and a half. Such is limit hold'em.

hah, yeah, i never lost 3 buyins when i played NL...riiight...if 300bb is his biggest NL downswing then HE is in for a rude awakening. i would say i probably lost 700 bbs in a day on nl? sure. 110 is my biggest downswing in limit though, although it happened over 3 days and right after an 80 bb upswing.

No tilt at all. Sunday started off as a break even session and went downhill in a BIG hurry. After 15 minutes of having my ass handed to me on a silver plater, I felt tilt set in and I quit for the day.

GoT - I think you made an excellent point. Personally, a 150BB downswing in a day would put me on serious tilt. I turn off the computer and do something else before I hit that frame of mind. I think you aren't seeing a lot of numbers higher than 150 because a lot of people can't handle it psychologically (I'm in that group). More experienced players (such as yourself), can handle it w/o going on perma-tilt.

Just my 2 cents.

Dropped 60BB when i first tried .50/1

in my $300 that was rather painfull. Then i spent some and dropped to .25/.50

I answered 50-100 two days ago, and then yesterday I hit a 150BB slide, giving me a -220BB slide in the last 3 days. Awesome.

in one 34 hour session I won $4k at 20/40 then finished down like 300. I exaggerated though. for the week I ended down 3k so that was the 175 bb
