I don't like the initial raise here, partially due to your stack size and due to the players in the blinds. From what I have seen spank is very aggressive and resteals often. Also, you are pot committed if the SB picks up any type of hand and pushes, which is exactly what happened.

Once you made the initial raise though, you had to call the push from the shortstack.

The blinds going around for one round are taking 30% of my stack at this point, I am folded to on the button with a great stealing hand, and you don't like it?

This is a pretty standard raise for me. Too aggressive?

I like the steal here, but its important that while you shouldn't underestimate your opponents, you cannot give them too much poker credit either.

When I have a ~11-12BB stack I will often raise all in with my steals as if you raise a 3BB raise many opponents won't *know* that you are pot committed and think they have folding equity and come over the top.

When playing in any tourney where the poker knowledge might not be deep, even late in the tourney, I like to hit them over the head so they get the message.

This is excellent advice, that makes perfect sense but for some reason I had never really considered. There have been a few times I have been reading 2+2 and a light went off in my head and I instantly had that "dying moment" flashback, where I relived everytime I had ever made this same mistake in a tourney in an instant. You've been responsible for quite a few of these "its so simple, yet im so oblivious, thanks for coming back and bringing me out of the cave" moments. Great post.
