NewtBuggs?

Do you push preflop? If you don't are you pushing any flop, or deciding based on how scary the flop is?

Honestly, I just push preflop and if I don't bust out the miracle win I load up a new tournament.

I would do what you did pre flop and then check/fold if I have no pair and no draw or decent shot at runner runner. Although this could very well be a hole in my game as I've never read about it, it just seems logical.

Again with the reminder that I should have been asleep hours ago.

I check the flop, hope someone bets big with KQ and then hit an 8, 9 or backdoor flush when he's made the others fold.

There are enough players left that you can't hope to fold to the money so somehow you need to find a way to give yourself the maximum chance to win this pot.

Even though that chance is slim, I think check/calling maximizes this chance.

Edit: If it is checked around and the turn brings a total blank, I would be willing to fold this hand.

You're getting 16-1 to put those last 47 chips in, so they pretty much have to go in at some point. Since you don't have a choice, why give the rest of the players a choice? I'd put them in preflop and hope to come out with 600 chips. If you fold to a bad flop/action, you need to double up on your next two random hands just to stay alive.

I generally do the same. Yes, there is always "A chip and a chair" but it isn't doing you any good to linger around in this SNG with <100 chips for another 5 minutes. Push, pray, and fire up another.

EDIT - I start scouting new tables and push my 47 chips before the blinds. I won't purposely pick a horrible spot to put my chips in. I will try to quickly get them in at the most opportune time I can find.

when Im on this situation, I play my best possible game..I once came back from 5 chips to make the money.

I'd check and then push allin on the flop regardless. You're pot commited already but noone will fold if you raise preflop. It's grim, but there's some chance noone hit a pair and the A means they don't even have over cards to the board. Maybe they suck and will fold.

You dont move allin preflop. You check because people are a lot more apt to bet when no one is allin. They might even fail to notice that you have 47 chips left and will obviously call. Also if the hand gets checked down somehow, it's nice to have 47 chips, or if someone bets the turn/river and you know you really have zero chance to win the hand.

Basically you gain very little by moving allin preflop, although I guess there is the strange thing where someone can limp reraise after your allin bet, so if you think thats likely you could consider doing that.

With 47 chips left, I don't think it really matters. I probably check down as far as I can and call all-in unless your chances of winning are so miniscule that you'd rather take your chances in the sb next hand. You have zero fold equity, so I wouldn't stress about pushing.
